Abstract

[Extract] This first week of February brings us to an important moment for nursing in Australia, as Royal College of Nursing, Australia (RCNA) and the Australian Rural Nurses and Midwives (ARNM) become one. This merger has been in the works for some time now; the reason for it are outlined by ARNM's president, Dr Jane Mills, in the facing column. As of 2 February 2009, ARNM will become the Rural Nursing and Midwifery Faculty, RCNA.
