Abstract

This paper shares some practice wisdom gained in the development of a groupwork response to families experiencing distress within the Defence Community following the critical incident involving two blackhawk helicopters in Townsville in June 1996. The preventative role and supportive nature of the group work had many positive outcomes, which are discussed.
