Abstract

The medusae and ctenophores of the Nuyts Archipelago are reported for the first time. In all, the collection includes at least 17 species of Hydromedusae (eight described here as new to science), one species of Siphonophorae, one species of Scyphomedusae, and two species of Ctenophora (one possibly new to science). The localized evolutionary radiation in the hydrozoan family Zanc1eidae is also discussed
