Abstract

Tools and techniques of analysing qualitative research evidence are poorly addressed in qualitative research literature (Miles, 1983, p.125) because of the variety of traditions within it, its unstructured, and open-ended nature. This chapter provides a synthesis of the tools and techniques of analysing qualitative research evidence using case study as an example. It then extends the analysis to case study based Management accounting research over the last one and a half decade. Some anecdotal evidence are presented to locate the current crisis and its underlying reasons.
